Ys F or Ys: The Oath in Felghana is an action computer game that continues the adventures of Adol Christin, the main character of the Ys series. In this game, Adol and Dogi, his companion, go to Redmont, the place where Dogi is born. They soon find out that the town is engulfed in evil. Adol and Dogi decide to find out and stop what is happening to the town. The game has numerous versions for the computer. Each version includes a combination of enhanced graphics, cinematic cutscenes, and additional story. The game is presented with 3D-modelled characters in a three-dimensional environment.

Ys: The Oath in Felghana follows a different gameplay from the earlier games in the series. In this game, Adol can jump and do specific attacks. This is done by pressing the associated controls on the keyboard. In previous games, Adol immediately attacks the enemy as soon as he gets close to it. In addition, some items are not carried in the inventory. For example, when the enemy drops a healing item, Adol picks up and consumes it immediately. The same is true with items that boost Adol's attacks. In this way, other important items can be stored in the inventory’s limited space. The game gives an experience boost when Adol uses combination moves to attack the enemies.
