YPOPs!

http://YPOPsEmail.com (Freeware)

YPOPs is a program that provides Post Office Protocol (POP3) and Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) access to Yahoomail. POP3 is an application that is used by email clients like Yahoo! Mail and Gmail to get information from a remote server. In 2002, Yahoo! Mail disabled free access to its POP3 servers. What this software does, is it emulates or copies how a POP3 server works and lets other email clients like Gmail, Outlook, Mozilla, etc., to download email from the user’s Yahoo! Account.

Once YPOPs! is installed, it can be used by opening the new email client. Next, users can select Email accounts from Tools menu. It will lead to a screen, which will allow users to change the email accounts and directories that Outlook uses. From the selection, users can choose to add a new account. Next, the user will be asked to choose the type of server that the new e-mail account will work with. Here, the users can choose POP3. The next screen will ask for relevant information needed to have the e-mail account working. The fields include the user’s name, username, email address, password, and the outgoing and incoming servers to be used. The incoming and outgoing server value is constant and is 127.0.0.1.
