xVideoServiceThief, also known as xVST, is a tool used for downloading videos from different video hosting websites, such as YouTube, Metacafe, MySpace, UStream, Dailymotion, and many others. Downloaded videos can be converted to a different file format including 3GP, MPEG1, MP4, WMV, and AVI. One of the features of the application is the scheduler. Users can set a schedule so that the program automatically downloads videos even without user interaction. The program also has a batch download feature so that users can save time.

xVideoServiceThief has a simple and easy to use interface. The queue for the videos can be viewed on the main window. Other information, such as the size, progress of the download, time, and speed can be viewed on the window, too. To add a video to download, copy and paste the URL to the download window. Users can also set the file format for the video, as well as the audio settings and the output quality. More features of the program are listed below:

• Search videos – searching videos to download can be done from the application’s interface
• Automatic updates – the application automatically updates itself so that user’s don’t need to manually check for new versions
• Drag and drop feature – links for videos can be dragged and dropped to the program so that they are added to the download queue
• Tray icon feature – the program can work in the background and is minimized in the system tray
• Download log – users can view a list of all the downloaded files for reference
