X-Plane 9 is a flight simulator that is packaged with various types of aircraft including military and commercial planes. This program is also equipped with global scenery, which features most of the Earth’s surface.
X-Plane 9 can also be used to customize scenery and aircraft and the plugin architecture is capable of creating modules. Users may use this app to create their own replicas of locations on Earth or even their own worlds (e.g Mars where the atmosphere can be made thinner then Earth). The span of the scenery is from 74 degrees north to 60 degrees south.
The X-Plane 9 includes a number of aircraft such as the Eclipse 500, the Columbia 400, the Cessna 172, the Cirrus Vision (personal jet under development), the Beechcraft King Air (twin turboprop aircraft), the Piper Malibu, and the Piaggio Avanti (turboprop business aircraft). The most basic aircraft in X-Plane 9 is the Cessna 172 while the most high performance plane is the Columbia 400. Close to the Columbia 400’s speed is the Piper Malibu.
X-Plane 9 is from Laminar Research. This app has a desktop version that is compatible with Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux. The X-Plane 9 Mobile version is available for both Apple and Android devices as well as for Palm Pre or for iOs, Android, webOS, and iOS.
