History Viewer, formerly called Winspy, is an application used for monitoring the activities done in a computer. This program can be used for computers that are accessed by different users during the day, or for checking the websites accessed when children use the computer. The program can monitor websites that were visited, programs that were opened, movies that were watched, and many more. It supports monitoring of different web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
The program’s main window is divided into two sections. The left pane shows a tree view of the four sections the program monitors including Internet Explorer, Windows, Firefox, and Google Chrome. Under these four sections are different categories that the program monitors. Users can choose one of the categories to access the files the application logs. Majority of the main window displays information about a category selected including its title, URL, when it was last visited, and other important data. Websites can be accessed by double clicking the URL from the main window.
The program is also capable of saving the log report in HTML file for reference. The HTML file can be viewed using different web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Internet Explorer.
