Uruchom S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl

GSC Game World (Proprietary)

Uruchom S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl is a role-playing, first-person shooting game under the survival-horror genre with sci-fi leanings. This game is developed by GSC Game World and is characterized by intensely violent scenes and themes.

Uruchom S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl is set in the near future in a different reality. The events and setting feature the aftermath of a second catastrophic occurrence at the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant Exclusion Zone. This happened two decades after the tragic incident, which happened in 1986. In this game, the nuclear meltdown caused extreme mutations in the plants and animals found in the area. Those who were not killed during the meltdown were changed into horrible creatures. The laws of physics have also gone awry. The player of this game assumes the role of an artifact scavenger with amnesia named “Stalker” who lives in “The Zone.” The layout of the area was based on the actual exclusion zone of the real-life Chernobyl facility, though a bit smaller in terms of land area.

Certain elements of the game are borrowed from “Roadside Picnic,” a novella and the “Stalker” film and novelizations. Players of Uruchom S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Shadow of Chernobyl will also encounter adult themes such as alcohol use and the propensity for strong language.
