Syndicate is a real-time tactics and tactical shooting video game developed by Bullfrog Productions. Published by Electronics Arts, the game was initially released in 1993. The game was rebooted in 2012 by Starbreeze Studios.
In this game, the player takes control of a corporation (named by the player) in a cyberpunk-style, near-future world. The player takes control of teams composed of up to four cyborg characters whose goal is to complete mission objectives including infiltration, assassinations, persuasion, and theft. The game’s main goal is world dominance via an established syndicate.
Gameplay of Syndicate involves the player controlling and commanding the team of cyborgs around the fictional cities viewed in an isometric style. As the player advanced to the game, the team must also control the research and development of cyborg upgrades and weaponry. The player’s funds are limited. Funds can be increased by acquiring taxes from conquered territories. To ensure that the citizens won’t revolt, the player must also ensure not overtaxing conquered cities. At the beginning of the game, the player can only use basic weaponry such as pistols. Weapons upgrade as the player progresses. Available high-tech weaponry include miniguns, Uzis, sniper rifles, lasers, time bombs, and more. Items are also available in the game. These items can also help the player advance. Available items include medikits, scanners, persuadertron, and more.
