Split MP3 is a small program that splits MP3 audio files into smaller pieces. It can be used for creating ringtones out of long songs or saving a section of a favorite song. The program supports MP3 input and allows users to save the output file in different audio file formats, such as AC3, FLAC, M4A, WAV, WMA, or AAC. The program has a simple interface and is easy to use. Novice computer users will be able to use the program without any trouble.
The program’s interface features a player that can be used to listen to the MP3 file before starting the splitting process. Once the section of the file to use has been determined, the user needs to input the start location and the end location by checking the timestamp on the original file. The ‘Direct Save’ button saves the output file in MP3 format, while the ‘Convert Save’ button allows the user to choose a different file format for the output file. Users can also select the audio bitrate from the drop down list to change the file’s quality and output size. The bitrate menu is located at the lower right side of the window. Split MP3 does not offer settings other than that seen on the main window.
