Snagit is a screenshot capturing application that was initially released in 1990. The program acts just like the print screen function on your keyboard, but with additional features. Photos that are captured can be edited. There are effects that can be added on the photo including arrows, blurring, text callouts, and more. All these are included in Snagit Editor, which is included in the program. To highlight a certain portion of an image, select the area and the rest of the photo will be blurred.
Apart from capturing desktop photos, Snagit is also capable of recording videos. This is useful for computer demonstrations or reviews. The video will be saved in MPEG-4 format and it can be uploaded to Facebook and YouTube. Downloading accessories allows quick posting to several third party applications and websites. Websites and applications supported by the program include the following:
• Movable Type
• Camtasia Studio
• Visual Studio Team System
• Fog Creek FogBugz
Snagit allows batch capture of different website components, such as photos, multimedia, and links. All the captured media will automatically be saved in the Library. The program stores capture information so that past captures can be searchable by date, by website, or by tag.
