Sid Meier's Civilization 4 : Warlords

Firaxis Games (Proprietary)

Civilization 4: Warlords is the first expansion pack of the Civilization 4 turn-based video game. It was developed by Firaxis Games and was first released in July 24, 2006 in North America. Like the original game, the game’s goal is to create and expand an empire. There have been some major changes in this expansion pack. One of these is the inclusion of a new Great People category called “Great Generals”. This new unit can only be created when the experience points received by the nation’s military unit reached a certain thresholds.

Warlords also features new Vassal States feature. This feature can be equated to the game’s protectorates and enables player to occupy other empires but as “vassals”. When this happens, the vassal no longer has the skill to declare war against opponents as well as make peace. This vassal, however, may be asked to pay tribute to its master state. In return to this tribute, the master state will have to protect that vassal. This new feature can be used to attain a Domination Victory. Aside from these added features, this expansion pack also offers six new scenarios (i.e. Vikings, Peloponnesian Wars, Genghis Khan, Omens, Alexander’s Conquest, Barbarian Horde and Rise of Rome). There are also new civilizations added to the game that provides more options to conquer the world.

Other changes and additions in this game include:
• 10 new civilization leaders
• 2 new leader traits
• Unique buildings
• Added resources and units
• New Wonders of the World
