Sibelius 7 is a program used for manipulating, creating, sharing, printing and publishing music notations. It features task-oriented user interface specifically designed to guide user in creating sheet music from beginning till end. It has a ribbon-style interface, which replaced the program’s old toolbars/menus. The interface also features Status Bar, Keyboard Access and Tabbed Document Interface. All of these features have both text and icon descriptions.
This music notation application features professional sound library including over 38 GB content such as symphony orchestra, pop and rock instruments and more. The program is designed for single-monitor use with its interface created for user to focus on music projects. For example, users have total control over the working environment with complete options such as dockable panels, context-sensitive inspector and redesigned mixer.
Sibelius offers compatibility features. It has new functions that make it easy to switch from other music notation software (e.g. Finale) to Sibelius. Some of these functions include the Step-Time Not Input Method (similar to Finale’s Speedy Entry method) and the MusicXML Export function, which is used for exchanging files with other programs. The application also offers text and typography features. It can provide pixel-perfect accuracy as well as deliver typographic control such as leading, tracking, character scaling and more. DTP-style text frames, hierarchical styles and OpenType fonts are offered as well. Graphics import and export are also available in Sibelius, which is used for importing graphics in other formats.
