Saints Row 2

Saints Row 2 is an open world/action-adventure video game created by Volition, Inc. It is the second installment of the Saint Row series and was initially released on January 5, 2009. The storyline begins with the player waking up from a coma in the Stilwater Penitentiary hospital ward. The player will then escape the island to go back to Stilwater mainland. Upon reaching the mainland, the player discovers that Johnny Gat (from the first game) has been sentenced to death. The player will rescue Johnny and rebuild the Third Street Saints gang. The storyline continues with three individual story acts, which can be completed in any order and at any time.

Saints Row 2 game play is composed of elements found in an action-adventure and open world game. The player can move around a large environment with the ability to use weaponry and engage in melee combats. After finishing the first mission, the player can now explore the environment and can choose on how to continue the game. Players must unlock missions by earning “respect points”. These points can be obtained through side missions or minigames. Customizing the character’s appearance is also possible including changing its gender, facial structure, ethnicity and more.

The game also features multiplayer elements through System Linking or online network. There is both co-op and competitive game types available for this mode. The co-op mode enables the player to advance in the game with the help of a partner while the competitive mode lets the player compete with other players in a deathmatch.
