Registry First Aid is a registry cleaner application developed by Rose City Software. It comes in two editions – Basic and Platinum. The program is used to analyze and repair problems in Windows registry allowing the computer to function faster and smoother. The program features a wizard-like interface that guides users throughout the entire cleaning process.
The program provides different registry-related tasks. These include checking the Windows registry for invalid entries, compressing registry, creating backups, restoring backups, and restoring from .reg backups. For the platinum edition, the available tasks include managing the registry, creating/comparing registry snapshots, and searching the registry for strings. Users also have the option to choose a specific registry category to scan or scan the entire Windows registry.
While the program scans the selected registry category, it also displays the progress of the scan. After the scan, it provides a list of invalid entries. The results page is divided into two areas – the entries list and navigation bar. Users may also organize the detected invalid entries by risk level, filter, or category. This allows users to choose which entries are to be fixed. Aside from correcting invalid registries, the program is also capable of managing the applications that run automatically during system startup. Uninstalling certain programs through its registry entry is also possible. Also, an Advanced Settings menu is available. It provides users with different configurations options on how to go about the registry fixing process.
