Ubisoft Montpellier (Proprietary)

Rayman 2 or Rayman 2: The Great Escape is a platform video game involving the titular character Rayman in the fictional world, Glade of Dreams. This game is developed and released by Ubisoft on October 1999. The game starts with the invasion of Glade of Dreams by robot pirates, led by Admiral Razorbeard, originating from outer space. In order to save the world, Rayman has to find and collect 1000 pieces of Lums or world’s core. These Lums are needed to awaken the world’s spirit, Polokus, using four magical masks. Polokus is the creator  of the world, thus, he is the last hope of the people of the Glade of Dreams.

Rayman 2: The Great Escape features the adventures of Rayman and his escape from the prison cells where the robot pirates put him and his friend Globox. After their escape, Globox assists Rayman in his quest to find the missing pieces of the world’s core. The game features a third person perspective with the player controlling the camera. Some levels feature limited control over the camera resulting to limited view of the environment. Collecting the Lums also enables the player to learn more about the backstory of the game. Collecting a certain number of Lums also enables the Rayman to access some levels. Aside from story-based levels, this game also features some time trials that results in bonus points or items.
