ratDVD (Freeware)

ratDVD is a free software that enables one to download complete DVD feature sets and play them on any type of DVD player. Initial features and menus of the DVD are not lost in the process of downloading, and DVDS result into compact file outputs. For example, a typical DVD with a file size of 4 gigabytes may be compressed to 2 or 1GB. In recompression however, video quality may be lessened.   This application allows for downloaded movies to be equipped with numerous subtitles, video angles, audio tracks and bonus materials that are normally lacking when downloading movies.

The “burn” feature has now been incorporated into the program. ratDVD files can be burned and directly converted from one’s Media Player.  The latter also supports the software’s files in the media library for videos. The software runs in conjunction with a certain codec named “XEB”, and output files may be played through one’s computer or any DVD player that is Direct-Show compatible.  Most downloaded DVD features that the software allows for are movie visual commentary, making of, alternate story endings, animated anecdotes and cut scenes. ratDVDs may be in the form of IFO, XML, VSI, and XVO files.  It also has an optional feature that displays DVD review results by anonymous users.
