Return to Castle Wolfenstein is a shooter game application initially released on Nov. 19, 2001. It is created by Nerve Software and released by Activision. It is based on the game program Wolfenstein 3D. The program’s has two game modes – single player and multiplayer mode.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein Single Player mode is based on the story of the Office of Secret Action forces and their goal to free the world from the Nazi War machine. The protagonist, B.J. Blazkowicz, is among the Office of Secret Nation members. The goal of B.J. Blazkowicz is to discover the real reasons for the Nazi’s activity inside the Castle Wolfenstein. The single player mode has seven missions with different levels. Aside from surviving, B.J. Blazkowicz must uncover the artifacts and treasures that the Nazi stolen.

Return to Castle Wolfenstein Single Player mode offers a Heads Up Display (HUD) with various elements in it. These elements will help players throughout the quest. It will give a view on the character’s status including the character’s Health, Stamina and Armor. There is also the Hint Icon that offers different hints such as Break, Use, Stab, Climb and more. Other items available in the HUD include Notebook, Ammo in Reserve, Ammo in Clip and Inventory. Different types of weapons are available as well including grenades, knife, pistols, sten, MP40, dynamite, Thompson and more.
