PDC World Championship Darts 2008

Mere Mortals (Proprietary)

The direct sequel to the previous year’s game of the same title, PDC World Championship Darts 2008 is a sports video game developed by Mere Mortals. It is similar to other yearly sports video games with the featured sport being darts. It is directly sponsored by the Professional Darts Corporation. The game features seven tournaments and sixteen professionals from the official PDC circuit. It was released in 2008 for various consoles and Microsoft Windows.

The game aims to be a hyper-realistic recreation of a game of darts, using intuitive controls for the PC. During the game, the players aim the darts using the arrow keys on the keyboard. After aiming for the target, the player can then adjust how much force they will put behind the dart using the spacebar. Releasing the dart is also done through the spacebar. The game features several difficulty modes, some of these taking away some of the screen elements that are present on the screen, to make the gaming experience more realistic for seasoned players.

The game’s highlight features are:
• Three difficulty modes, Amateur, Professional and Master
• Exhibition and Tournament game modes
• The ability for players to arrange their own tournaments
• Motion-captured signature throws from professional players
• 16 playable characters
