Object Desktop – TabLaunchpad is a desktop application developed by Stardock to complement its Object Desktop application. It is not a standalone application and will only work when the Object Desktop app is already installed. With this program, users can segregate and group their programs into categories that can be easily accessed from the desktop. The Object Desktop – TabLaunchpad application window is displayed on the desktop for easy access.
Object Desktop – TabLaunchpad features a classic grey tabbed interface. Users can customize the tabs to show the most often used categories including Apps, Net, Games, Utilities, Office, etc. Clicking any of the tabs will display the programs that correspond to each of them. For example, if the user clicks on Games, the games added under that tab will be shown and users can then click that to launch the game. The program also features a Tasks tab to provide access to the currently running programs. The interface can be hidden from view and re-accessed by mousing over the corner of the desktop window. Thus, even if the desktop is filled with other applications, users can still access the program without minimizing the other windows. Users can also customize the interface to always float on top of all the active windows. Other customization options allow users to choose the icon for selected programs for easy recognition.
