Nimbuzz is an application that allows users to communicate with their contacts over the Internet. This program has a variety of features that enables users to send instant messages, share files, and make video and voice calls. Nimbuzz can connect with social networking and other instant messaging platforms such as Facebook, GTalk, Yahoo! Messenger, MSN, MySpace, Twitter, AIM, Jabber, and Windows Live Messenger to allow users chat and call their online contacts. This application requires an Internet connection and several audio or video input devices such as a webcam, headset, or microphone in order to perform messaging, and voice and video calls.
Nimbuzz features a layout and a set of controls seen in other instant messaging programs. Users can upload an avatar or a profile photo and type a status message that shall be displayed next to the user’s profile icon. This program also allows users to search and add new contacts by a search and invite button. Users may look up contacts by typing in the contact’s full name, email address, or phone number. Users can also import contacts from their other instant messaging accounts.
Nimbuzz’s instant messaging function enables users to chat with a single contact, or join a conference where users may chat with multiple contacts. The messaging window has various editing features that enable users to change the font size, font style, and font color of the message text. The program’s messaging function also includes a variety of emoticons similar to most instant messaging programs. In addition, users may share files such as documents, photos, videos, and music using the messaging window.
The program’s main display window shows a list of online contacts as well as the device that they are logged in to. Users may change their display status as online, busy, or away from the computer. The program can also save previous conversations in the chat history.
