MP3 Skype Recorder is used for recording and saving conversations on Skype. The program has a simple interface that consists of the record, stop, and play button. There are also other options provided at the bottom part of the screen including the recording mode (mono, stereo, or joint stereo) and the recording bitrate (24, 32, 64, or 128). The program can run stealthily as it does not place icons on the system bar or the system tray. The program is capable of recording P2P Skype calls, Skype to online numbers, and SkypeOut calls.

MP3 Skype Recorder sits silently in the background and waits for Skype calls. As soon as a conversation starts, the program automatically starts recording. The program is also able to record multiple calls at the same time. This can be done when one call is picked up and the other is put on hold. Recordings for multiple calls are saved in separate files. All recorded files are saved in MP3 format.
