Microsoft Office PowerPoint is a slideshow presentation application developed by Microsoft and released on 1990. The program is a part of the Microsoft Office software suite. It enables users to create slideshow presentations that may be used in business or education purposes. The GUI features the signature ribbon interface. A slide viewer tool occupies the left panel while, the main window occupies the remaining space. A notes viewer is located at the bottom. Users can change the slide viewer into the outline viewer.

Microsoft Office PowerPoint enables users to create presentations through slideshows. The slideshow is made up of individual slides shown one after the other. Users can change the format of the slide depending on the contents—Title slide, Section header, Comparison, blank, etc. Users can customize the presentation by inserting text, WordArt, pictures, clip art, Charts, graphs, and other shapes. The program also features built-in themes that may be utilized to make a cohesive presentation. Users may also apply animation effects, as well as transitions between slides. Users may also add transition sounds and customize the transition speed. The program also enables users to add animation effects to slideshow elements including objects, pictures, and text. Users can customize how the element will be displayed, how it will be given emphasis, and how it will exit the view. The program also enables users to record and add a narration to the presentation.
