Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne is a third-person shooter game first released in 2003. It is the second game in the Max Payne series of games. Max Payne is an escapee who formerly worked as a DEA (Drug Enforcement Administration) agent. The game takes place two years after the events of the first game. Max Payne has cleared his name and is currently working as a detective. Players control Max Payne and must work with Mona Sax, a contract killer, to uncover a conspiracy.
Players take the role of Max Payne for majority of the game. However, there are some levels where they control Mona Sax. Initially, players are given only one weapon (9mm pistol). As the game progresses, users can acquire other weapons, such as shotguns, submachine guns, and other types of artillery. Players must complete missions to progress through the storyline. At the start of the game, the player can only play the default difficulty level. After finishing the game, more difficulty modes are unlocked.
One of the features of the game is Bullet Time. This mode slows down the surroundings in the game while allowing the player to control the character in real time. This feature makes it easier for players to make decisions when faced with a difficult scenario.
