LEXiTRON Dictionary

National Electronics and Computer Technology Center (Freeware)

LEXiTRON Dictionary is a translation tool created by the National Electronics and Computer Technology Center or NECTEC, which is based in Thailand. This is a dictionary and translation program that can be downloaded on PC desktops, laptops, and mobile devices. Its target users are Thais, as well as foreign citizens who have the interest to learn the Thai language.

This tool is basically a Thai-English dictionary. This is offered in two types of versions. One is with sound or audio, and the other one does not have any sound effect. For some users, they may find a dictionary with audio enabled to be more helpful. This is to have an idea of how Thai words are properly pronounced.

LEXiTRON Dictionary consists of words that are very common or frequently used in both languages (Thai and English). This includes some popular phrases, such as “hello”, “how are you”, “thank you”, ‘welcome”, and “goodbye”. For beginners, this is a useful program to use in learning Thai, or English.

One of the features of this program is that it has a large database from a Copus-based dictionary. This assists users to find translations of specific terms. In addition, users can refer to the installed dictionary of the program, or browse LEXiTron online.
