Jasc Animation Shop V.3.11 is an application designed to permit users to make their own animated GIF (graphic interchange format) images one frame at a time. It is an application that creates animations from one or more images and offers a comprehensive variety of transitions and effects for improving animations. Images can also be created directly in the program with the paintbrush tool. This program is targeted towards web designers that require adding animations to their websites. As a standalone app, Animation Shop lets users create animations for use in a presentation or on a Web site. The interface is straightforward which allows users to create animated effects such as banners and buttons among others.
Users can utilize the Banner or Animation wizards to create and assemble new animations or they can build animations automatically by importing multiple-layer images. Features like frame culling, automated cropping options, registration marks, mirror and flip frame adjustments, drag-and-drop editing, and an array of drawing and painting tools can be used to modify animations. Once done, the Optimization Wizard provides an extensive selection of file output options allowing animations to be optimized for the Internet.
Animation Shop was developed by Jasc Software, Inc., a company established by Robert Voit. Jasc Software was acquired by Corel Corporation on October 14, 2004. The office in Eden Prairie, Minnesota was closed down on November 28, 2007.
