FINAL FANTASY VIII

Final Fantasy VIII is a role-playing action video game developed by Square Enix and released in 2000. Final Fantasy VIII game story involves a group of mercenaries who aims to protect the world from a manipulating sorceress. The main protagonist is Squall Leonheart who is a 17-year old student in the Balamb Garden Military Academy.

Final Fantasy VIII gameplay consists of three game modes—the field map, the world map, and the battle screen. Final Fantasy VIII world map is a 3D rendering of the whole game world where the players can move freely by foot or by car. The game’s field map features 2D game environment where players control a 3D character. Final Fantasy VIII battle screen shows a 3D model of a location and features turn-based battles against the CPU. Final Fantasy VIII features 6 main game characters—the previously mentioned Squall Leonheart, the outspoken Rinoa Heartily, the instructor Quistis Trepe, martial artist Zell Dincht, pilot Selphie Tilmitt, and marksman Irvine Kinneas. Main antagonists are Seifer Almasy and Edea Kramer. Final Fantasy VIII is set in a fantasy world with one moon and five landmasses called Esthar, Galbadia, Trabia, and Balamb, with the first two as the biggest landmasses.

Final Fantasy VIII musical score was created by Nobuo Uematso. The theme music is entitled “Eyes on Me”, as sung by Faye Wong.
