IrfanView 4.6.2 (64-bit)

Irfan Skiljan (Freeware)

IrfanView is an image viewer application first released in 1996. Developed by Irfan Skiljan, the program is used for viewing, editing and converting image files. It can also be used for playing video and audio files. The application can view and save different files times including GIF, BMP, PNG and JPEG. It can also be used for viewing media files like Ogg, Flash, MP3, MPEG and text files. While image files are being viewed, several slideshow functions and fit-to-screen scaling options are available. Users can choose whether to view files in sequence or not.

IrfanView can also be used for creating slideshows and screensavers. An option to add MP3 to the slideshows is also available. When creating screensavers, slideshows and batch image translations, users can apply preset image processing procedures to certain images. Icons can also be created using this program by converting image files into .ico formats. For extended screenshot support and retrieving image files from scanners, IrfanView offers TWAIN support. The program also offers several image editing tools including rotate, crop and resize. Image files can be modified by adjusting tint, brightness, contrast and gamma level, either automatically or manually. Most changes can be applied to several images at once using the batch processing.

To add functionality and image formats, IrfanView utilizes plugins like filter processing. The program also features thumbnails that show thumbnail file previews of the files. This lets users organize and manage files at sizes from 50x50 up to 600x600 pixels. Users have the option to choose the number of thumbnails to perform certain actions.
