InfraRecorder

Christian Kindahl (Freeware)

InfraRecorder is an optical disc authoring program that was initially released in 2006. It supports recording dual-layer DVDs, as well as recording discs and disc images (ISO, BIN/CUE). Aside from burning data to discs, the program is also capable of extracting WAV and ISO image files from discs. After writing to a disc, the InfraRecorder application can write lead-out information, which prevents additional data to be added to the disc. Users can also import session data from multi-session discs and include more sessions to the data.

When the program is launched, there are six options available on the window. These are: Data Disc, Audio Disc, Video Disc, Write Image, Copy Disc, and Read Disc. Users can start a project by choosing ‘New Project’ under the File menu. Upon choosing one of the six options, a new window will open showing the explorer section, wherein users can navigate through the files and folders that are present in the computer. Files and folders can be dragged and dropped to the disc to start the burning process. Aside from disc authoring, the InfraRecorder program can also be used to reformat discs or erase content from discs.

The InfraRecorder program makes use of the cdrtools application, a console-based burning software, for its burning process.
