Hard Drive Inspector Professional is a program that enables users to scan and monitor their computer hard drive for any errors. This program can perform a thorough scan of the hard drive’s files and folders and test them for errors. This program also takes note of previous error occurrences in the user’s computer. Hard Drive Inspector Professional uses the S.M.A.R.T. technology in diagnosing hard drive problems. This feature works by scanning the system for any hard drive performance changes based from a previous state. Hard Drive Inspector Professional will then access the S.M.A.R.T. data and inform the computer owner if their hard drive is no longer safe for use. Users can then take measures to preserve their hard drive data by creating a backup of their important files. Hard Drive Inspector Professional is mainly a diagnostic tool and cannot repair errors found in the user’s hard drive.
Hard Drive Inspector Professional features a simple and clean interface that contains three tabs: the Health Summary tab, the Technical Info Tab, and the S.M.A.R.T. Details tab. The health summary tab contains a list of the computer’s available hard drives including several drive info like the disk model, the disk capacity, total disk free space, and power-on time. This section also contains the hard disc status information such as reliability, performance, error resistance, and current temperature. The next tab is the technical info tab where users may find hard drive information such as the manufacturer, serial number, worldwide name, firmware, logical geometry information, buffer size, local drives, and device features. The final tab, which is the S.M.A.R.T. tab, contains details such as raw read error rate, spin-up time, reallocated sectors count, seek error rate, power-on hours, spin retry count, and SATA interface downshift.
