GRID

Codemasters (Shareware)

GRID, also called Race Driver: Grid, is a racing game that was first released in 2008. In the game, the player acts as a principal driver while managing a race team. At the beginning of the game, players start out as a driver for other racing teams in order to acquire cash. Once the player has enough money to start a team, cars can be purchased to start a racing team. The player can still choose to drive for other racing teams, too.

GRID features 43 different types of cars. Racing takes place in three regions – Unites States, Japan, and Europe. There are also different types of races to join:

• Drifting
• Touge
• Demolition Derby
• GT Championships
• Open Wheel

After finishing a racing season, players can also compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans race that tests the efficiency and endurance of the vehicles. Some of the race tracks that are featured in the game are based on real race circuits that can be found in Michigan, Le Mans, Washington DC, and Spa-Francorchamps. GRID also offers downloadable content that can be added in the game. These content packs provide additional vehicles and multiplayer events to the game.
