The game is set in Khorinis, a medieval isle that consists of woody area, farms, fire mages, and a monastery. Players are given missions to complete before joining one of the three factions that are available in the game. The factions are: fire mages, militia, and the mercenaries. The hero must join a faction before progressing with the game. The main goal in the game is to prevent the attack of dragons and orcs.
In the game, players are free to roam around the game world. The game is played in a non-linear manner and players can choose which missions to do first. The game quests can be finished in several different ways. Players can use different weapons during combat including axes, swords, and crossbows. Users can also use magic spells and healing potions.
