FreeCommander 2009.02b

Marek Jasinski - www.FreeCommander.com (Freeware)

FreeCommander is a management software that is used as a tool for viewing files. The software has a dual-panel technology that enables users to browse folders or window options in a more efficient manner. This is used for easy navigation of files. Unlike the conventional window explorer set up, dual-panel technology uses two windows instead of one. The software is composed of vertical and horizontal panes, enabling users to view contents and a two folder tree at the same time. Opening of folders is more accessible and easy.  Users can easily copy or move files from one place to another. These tasks can also be done using shortcut keys.

Aside from features mentioned above, FreeCommander has a built-in compression that can unzip files even without installing Winrar, winzip or 7-zip. This feature can directly extract compressed archives and unpack different file formats.  The Quick View feature can preview image or text files by pressing the shortcut key CTRL+Q. This option gives brief information about the content and size of the folder being selected.  Users can convert folders into tabs by tagging these folders as favorites. This feature enables users to organize frequently used folders. FreeCommander has a Multi-File Renaming Function that lets users select multiple files and rename these files all at the same time.
