Foxit Reader is a small application that allows users to open, make changes, and print out a PDF file. There are three ways to read PDF files – multi-tab browsing, multiple document interface, or single document interface. With these options, readers have the option to have different PDF files open side by side, or in a single window. One feature of Foxit Reader is Read Out Loud. This feature requires Speech Application Programming Interface 5 to be installed in the computer. Users who are on the go can opt to listen to the contents of the PDF file as opposed to reading it. Read Out Loud reads the main content of the file, descriptions, comments, and fields that have to be filled out.
Foxit Reader has tools that allow users to add comments to the file with the use of notes. Highlighting and underlining is also possible. Changes made on the document can quickly be reverted with the undo and redo buttons.
Other features of the program are:
• Free spell checker
• Typewriter Tool for filling out PDF forms
• Attachment of PDF files and other types of files to the PDF file open
• Text viewer and converter
• Measurement of distances of objects in the PDF file
Foxit Reader supports social network sharing through Facebook and Twitter.
