FIFA 08

EA Canada (Proprietary)

FIFA 08 is a football video game developed by EA Canada and published by EA Sports. It was first released on September 27, 2007 in Japan and Australia. The American release took place in October 8, 2007. The game features over 600 licensed teams, over 40 national teams and 30 leagues.

This release is the first to include the “Be a Pro” mode. In this mode, players use only one character throughout an entire game match. Changing the character in between matches is possible. However, using goalkeepers is not allowed. The goal in this mode is to master various football skills until the created character becomes a professional football player. The created player can play against up to three other created players for a multiplayer game of football. Developing the player’s football attributes is also possible by completing challenges.

FIFA 08 also made changes in the Manager Mode. In this mode, players can now schedule training on specific dates, which can be done through the manager’s calendar. Aside from this, the game also offers new manual controls that help control different actions, such as crossing and passing. The player may also control the goalkeeper during a match to help prevent the goal from the other team. The game also offers player the ability to combine special moves. The shooting systems have also been changed and it now considers different variables to make it realistic.
