F.E.A.R. 3 is a FPS video game with a psychological horror theme which is the direct sequel to the F.E.A.R. 2 video game. It was officially released on June 21, 2011. The game follows where the previous entry left off. However, this time focusing on the Point Man as he teams up with Paxton Fettel. Michael Becket, from the previous game, also made an appearance in the game and helped Paxton and the Point Man piece out some of the puzzle. The game can have two different endings. This depends on several factors. In the single player mode, good and evil endings are available. In the co-op mode, the player with the highest score has the option to choose the ending.

F.E.A.R. 3 has both single player and multiplayer modes. The single player mode follows a campaign storyline. The player can choose to play as the Point Man or as Paxton. The multiplayer mode offers four game types. These are Soul Survivor, Fucking Run, Soul King, and Contractions. The Soul Survivor and Fucking Run game types can be played by purchasing them. The Fucking Run game type can be played by up to 6 players, wherein they are constantly running through a huge wave of opponents while running from Alma’s Wall of Death. The Contractions game type is similar to the survival games, wherein the player must stock weapons and barricade against waves of enemies.
