Excel Password Recovery is a recovery program that allows users to retrieve lost passwords for Microsoft Excel documents. The application supports documents created with Microsoft Excel 1995 up to 2003. The application makes use of three types of attacks for getting back passwords. These are boost up attack, dictionary based attack, and brute force attack. The program retrieves passwords quickly and processes up to 20 million possible passwords in one minute when using the brute force attack mode. It has a user-friendly interface that novice computer users will be able to use.
Excel Password Recovery’s main interface has different command buttons for different sections of the application. These are Open, Profile Manager, Password Cache, Benchmark, Log, and Help. The left pane on the main window displays a tree view of folders and subfolders containing Microsoft Excel documents. Users can select the document to work on. The right side of the window is divided into three sections – Status, Settings, and Log. These tabs show the status of the password (recovered or not recovered), the settings for the selected Excel document, and the log for the file.
