The Sims is a series of life simulation games first released in 2000. The deluxe edition of the game was released in 2002. It includes The Sims base game, as well as The Sims: Livin’ Large expansion pack. This special edition also has exclusive content, such as more than 20 objects and over 50 clothing styles for the characters. In addition, the package includes The Sims Creator, an application that is used for customizing the clothing of Sims.

In the game, players control a Sim or a family in their daily activities. At the beginning of the game, players start with 20,000 Simoleons (in game money). Users can purchase a house and furniture in the build/buy mode. The Sims can interact with objects (stove, television, radio, etc), as well as with other Sims in the household. Players must also take care of the Sims’ needs and make sure that the bars are always filled. The eight needs are hunger, comfort, bladder, energy, fun, social, hygiene, and environment. The Sims: Livin’ Large expansion pack that comes with the deluxe edition offers new objects, careers, and NPCs (Non-Playable Characters). The new additions included in the expansion are:

• Objects – antique lamp with a genie, crystal ball, telescope, vibromatic heart bed
• Building themes – rustic houses, medieval castles, retro homes of the future, Las Vegas-style lounges
• NPCs – Servo the robot, Sunny the Tragic Clown, Santa Claus, Genie, and the Grim Reaper
• New Careers – Hacker, Musician, Slacker, Paranormal, and Journalism
