DiRT

Codemasters (Shareware)

DiRT, also known as Colin McRae: Dirt, is a racing game program developed and published by Codemasters. It was first released on June 19, 2007 in North America and June 15, 2007 in Europe. This is the 6th installment in the Colin McRae Rally game series. There are two modes available in this game – single player and multiplayer.

In the single player game, three game modes are available – Rally World, Career and Championship. The Career mode is the most commonly used mode. This mode is constructed in a pyramid setup with 11 “tiers”. The bottom tier has 11 more events. Each event is composed of one or more events that require a particular type of car. For each race in an event, the player can get up to 10 points depending on their place. The points acquired are necessary for unlocking other tiers. Each tier requires a specific number of points. Earning money and winning races also provides players to purchase liveries and cars. In the Rally World mode, the player can repair the car damages between each race. However, only 60 minutes is allotted for each repair. The Championship mode provides series of races wherein the time for each race is accumulated.

In the multiplayer mode, the game enables the player to race against multiple players (up to 100 competitors) through the solo game. The player who finished the race with the faster time wins.
