Dark Parables: The Exiled Prince is the next chapter of Dark Parables, which is a casual game series created by Blue Tea Games. Released in February of 2011, it is published by Big Fish Games and features the Frog Prince’s story, which is investigated by the player’s detective character. The setting of this game is Black Forest in Germany, which is also where the Chancellor’s daughter is said to be missing. The player takes on the role of the detective who is hired by the authorities to find out what happened to the girl, find her, and bring her home.
Since Dark Parables: The Exiled Prince is a hidden object game, the player is tasked to locate items in the inventory, but with a bit of a twist – these items are broken into pieces, which are concealed around the forest. Most of the scenes in the game features a couple of interactive items such as critters hopping about when the player clicks on them. The game also comes with 20 “cursed objects” that morph into something different when clicked. The player will not be penalized for being unable to click on all of these objects, although every item found shortens the recharge time of hints. Once the player completes all of the levels, the Hard Mode becomes accessible. There is also a bonus chapter that gives the player Collector’s Edition items when completed.
