Colin McRae Rally 04

Codemasters Software (Shareware)

Colin McRae Rally 04 is a racing video game created by Codemasters. It is part of the Colin McRae Rally game series and was initially released in 2003 in Europe and 2004 in North America. Like other titles in the series, the game includes a combination of arcade and simulation style handling. The game features six championships, several tracks from eight countries, and four car classes (Bonus, 4WD, 2WD, and Group B). Unlike other installments, the game does not include an official WRC team license.

The game features single player and multiplayer game types. However, they are generally categorized into three modes:

• Rally Mode – The game’s rally mode setting allows a player to play a full rally. However, a custom created rally can also be created where users can choose the stage slot. In rally mode, players can also play a quick race where they go straight into a rally game on any stage.
• Championship – The championship mode is the focus of the game where 4wd, 2wd, and group b cars can be used. When using 4wd and 2wd, players can choose two levels of difficulty – advanced and normal. There is also the expert championship where players don’t have co-drive on-screen arrows, a progress display, or clock.
• Multiplayer – Any of the game modes can be played in a multiplayer game except for the quick race. Players can play in a 2-player game where the screen is split, or a 4-player game.
