Camera Control Pro 2 is an application that allows users to control their Nikon Digital Single Light Reflex (DSLR) cameras remotely from another computer using a USB cable or local area network (LAN). The LAN connection can either be wired or wireless. For instance, if users are using their camera to monitor the transition of a cocoon to a butterfly, they will set up the camera to work remotely. The Liveview function can be enabled while the camera is put on tripod mode. The Liveview function allows users to record a video and take a picture at the same time, while controlling the camera from a remote location. The application makes these tasks easier by allowing the computer to control functions including exposure mode, shutter speed, aperture, and other functions on the camera Picture Control System.
With Camera Control Pro 2, pictures and even videos are directly transferred from the camera to the computer. It shows images using an initial thumbnail view so the user can check and delete those which are irrelevant. The user can confirm the image on the computer while adjusting functions like focal point and shutter release. Other features of this program include its ability to fine tune white balance and auto-focus.
