Call of Juarez®: The Cartel

Techland (Shareware)

Call of Juarez: The Cartel is a first-person shooter game released in 2011. The game is set in the present in Mexico and Los Angeles, as opposed to the 1800s setting in previous Call of Juarez games. In the game, players can choose to control one of the three law enforcement agents:

• Ben McCall – LAPD cop
• Ray McCall – DEA agent with a gambling problem
• Kim Evans – A street kid formerly affiliated with a gang and is presently an FBI agent

The end of the game depends on which character was chosen by the player. The game starts with the bombing of the DEA offices with the main suspects being Antonio Alvarez and the Mendoza Cartel. Players must catch the culprit and at the same time protect Jessica Stone, an informant who is placed under the witness protection program. Throughout the game, players are given missions that must be completed to propel the story forward. These missions include interrogating suspects, shootings, car chases, and raids. The characters use different kinds of weapons including machine guns, snipers, and pistols. As the game progresses and missions are completed, new weapons and game items are unlocked.

Call of Juarez: The Cartel can be played online in a three-player cooperative mode. There are also other multiplayer game modes, such as an unrevealed new mode of play and Team Death Match.
