BoostSpeed is a set of utilities for speeding up, cleaning, and optimizing a computer’s performance. It fixes registry errors, removes unneeded files, and defragments the disk registry. Aside from these, the application is also capable of retrieving files that are accidentally deleted from the computer. The program’s interface has these options on the main window.
The Disk Doctor tool inspects the computer’s hard drive for errors, bad errors, and helps in preventing data loss. The Disk Cleaner rids the system of junk files that are left by online programs. BoostSpeed also has an Internet Optimizer that speeds up the Internet connection. It assesses the internet speed before making any changes to the system. More experienced users will be able to manually change the options according to their preferences.
Some programs uninstalled from the system leave some files and folders that are not permanently deleted. The File Shredder option in BoostSpeed allows users to remove these contents from the computer so that they’ll never be retrieved again. The option has four different shredding options from quick shredding to military-level shredding.
BoostSpeed’s Tweak Manager offers the options to customize web browsers, e-mail clients, and instant messaging software. Each of the settings provided on Tweak Manager has a rating, which tells the user how much impact a certain setting has on the overall performance of the computer.
