Awale 4.0

Myriad (Freeware)

Awale is an ancient African game that is also known as Wari, Oware, and Awele. The rules of the game are simple and easy to understand. However, players can use their own complex strategies in order to win against their opponent. The player’s aim is to get more seeds than the other player. At the end of the game, the player with the most number of seeds wins. The wooden game board consists of 12 holes (six for the player and six for the opponent) that are filled with four seeds each.

The first player chooses a hole and distributes the seeds in that hole to the other holes in a counterclockwise direction. If the player ends up in a hole at the opponent’s side, the player can get all the seeds in that hole. The game comes with a manual that consists of all the rules for the game. Under the Rules menu, users can choose the rules that they want for the game. There are different game variants including Nyakun, Oware, Darra, Adjito, Halusa, and others.

Other features of the Awale game are the following:

• Game is available in French and English
