Astroburn Lite is an optical disc authoring application that was first released in 2012. The program is a simple burning solution for home usage. It is capable of burning content to DVDs and Blu-Ray discs. The program does not support burning of VCDs and DVDs. Burning discs is done in three steps: inserting a disc into the optical drive, selecting the content or image file, and starting the burning process. Aside from writing content on discs, the program is also capable or erasing content whenever needed.
Once a disc is inserted into the optical drive, information on the disc can be viewed on the interface. These include the amount of free space on the disc, exceeded space, and the used space. This can be of help to the user before beginning the burning process. Users can view if the content fits in the disc inserted on the system.
The program is fully customizable and users can change the color of the interface by choosing from the skins that come with the program. Other settings that the user can change include the burning speed and auto selection of the file system before starting the burning process. Astroburn Lite supports .iso, .ape, .flac, .mdx, and .bwt.
