Astroburn Audio is an application primarily used for burning audio files from the computer to a CD. Supported audio formats that can be burned to the disc include WAV, MP3, and WMA files. To use the program, the user simply needs to select the files that will be burned to the disc. This can be done by using the browser menu or through the program's drag and drop functionality. The user must then specify where the disc is located. After that, the user can start the burn process. This can be done by clicking the “Start Burn” button on the lower right portion of the interface. The program has a progress bar, which displays how long it will take before the files are successfully burned to the CD.

The program can also find out the amount of free space on a CD, it can notify the user if the files about to be burned will take a larger space compared to what the disc has. This will allow the user to keep on adding files or remove them when needed. While burning the files, the program displays all the audio tracks on the main pane of the interface. It also displays the number of minutes of all of the songs' play time.
