When burning discs, the user has the option to add files from other sources, such as online social accounts, Dropbox, digital cameras, and smartphones. It also has a feature called ‘Compact Mode’ where the user does not need to adjust the settings when burning. Splash screens, menus, and transitions can be added, too. The program supports ripping music. It supports various audio formats like MP3 and WMA.

Ashampoo Burning Studio 2012 comes packed with an editor for making labels and covers for discs. Users can print booklets, scan designs from CD covers, or use preset themes that come with the package. It also comes with expert functions for changing settings before burning.
