Ares Galaxy Turbo Booster is an acceleration plug-in developed for the Ares Galaxy file sharing program. Ares Galaxy is an open source P2P application that facilitates sharing of images, videos, software, music files, and documents over a peer to peer network. Files are available for download for any person who installed the application. However, due to many users, the download speed is affected adversely. This is where the Ares Galaxy Turbo Booster comes into play. It boosts the current download speed and decreases download time. This acceleration tool is developed by DownloadBoosters LLC and released on January 2009.
Ares Galaxy Turbo Booster user interface sports a grey metallic theme. The Accelerate button located at the top left portion of the interface initiates the acceleration process. The left panel contains three more buttons corresponding to Minimize to tray for minimizing the options, Quit application, and Run Your Ares Galaxy button to launch the file sharing tool. The UI also features some information regarding the download connection. It shows the type of connection used –LAN, Wireless, Modem; and the connection status. It also displays the total bytes sent and received. The UI also shows the length of time the system has been connected to the Internet, as well as the length of time the connection is running in Accelerated mode. The bottom portion of the UI displays the Connection Profile.
