AppCleaner is an application that cleans a computer’s system and registry. It locates and eliminates broken, obsolete, and old files. In the process of it freeing up system resources and disk space the application can improve a computer system’s performance. Users may designate which files to clean. The application comes with a startup manager, uninstaller, protected delete levels, and restore tools.
The application’s interface is intuitive, properly laid out, minimal, and with simple fonts. Program Options, Cleaner, and Tools may be accessed from a tabbed side panel. The program’s Cleaner also has two functions which are Clean and Analyze. The application will only clean items that users specifically checkmark thus preventing non-expert users to delete system mechanisms that must be maintained. A limited number of default selections mostly present browser cache files. Other selections include Windows, Registry, and Applications files. When one selects “Analyze”, the application will present expanded results and after program cleaning will advise if scanning is completed. Scan results may be right clicked to provide detailed information for each. Detailed scan information present which system entries need attention and which could be removed immediately. Examples of files which AppCleaner can clean include Adobe lash Player, Google crash reports, icon cache, web browsers, setup logs, and Windows tracing, just to name a few.
