Age Of Japan is a game in the Match-3 genre, where players group three or more similar objects together. This is done by swapping an object with another one above, below, to the left, and to the right of it so that it will form part of a horizontal or vertical chain of three or more identical objects. When matched, the chain will be destroyed and the cells behind them will clear. New objects will trickle down from the top of the puzzle grid to occupy the space vacated by the matched objects. The goal in each level is to clear all of the cells by matching the object that is currently on them.
There are 40 game levels in Age of Japan and each level has a time limit within which all the cells must be cleared. The puzzle grids change in shape at every level, and each poses a different challenge. There are power-ups and bonuses in the game that can help the player clear cells and extend the time limit. Users that choose to play without a time limit can choose the Puzzle mode option.
At the end of every level, the game will show the number of points earned in the level, the how long the user played before the levels were cleared, the best combination shot, the bonus score, and the total number of points scored in the game.
