Age of Empires III – The Asian Dynasties is the latest expansion pack for the 2005 RTS game of the same name. Developed by the company, Big Huge Games, Asian Dynasties has a plot that centers on the time of European colonization and exploration. It also features three new Asian civilizations, namely China, India, and Japan as well as three campaigns for each of them. In the Chinese campaign, the player assumes the role of a Shaolin monk who leads a group of disciples in the exploration of the New World. Initially, the player gets a single disciple with whom to begin the expedition but s/he gets to train more disciples as the game progresses. Since China has the biggest population among the three civilizations, it has a higher limit for population points.

In the Indian campaign, the player assumes the role of Lieutenant Nanib Sahir, a former member of the East India Trading Company who eventually organizes the Indian citizens in a revolt against their British colonizers. Along with Pravar Patel, Sahir rescues Bahadur Shah II, who had been held prisoner by the British forces. He serves as the leader of the Indian army as they bring down the British command post and kill their leader, Colonel George Edwardson.
